When I went to Katya’s house and I saw this guitar in her room how could we not shoot with it? Rock and fucking roll!!! I chose some expired Fuji film and shot it with some direct flash for that grungy BTS rock and roll look.

We were having a great time until my battery died on me and I didn’t have any spares with me like a rookie.
So all we got was these 13 shots instead of 36… Lucky all 13 turned out pretty dope…  It does make one wonder how dope the look may have been if I had the full roll to shoot!

This is something that we always think though no matter what, as an artist we are always our own worst critic, where others see something dope we see what we could have done better or sometimes where we totally fucked up our intended concept.

It also happens while we are in the process of creating, we often don’t know when to stop, we keep trying to add more and more and more in the hopes of achieving that elusive perfection. It is actually one of the things I love about film… I have 36 or 24 shots to make it work and then come what may I am done.

The take away points from this is that it is perfectly normal to think your work is not as good as it could be (or you may even hate it) but this is usually because you are looking at it knowing what it could have been. Always take a moment to appreciate what is in front of your eyes, don’t look at it it critically, just appreciate it for what it is rather than what it could have been. Then later you can make mental notes about what you could improve and bring this to your future projects!
